As July sets in I am still a bliss from my travels to Seattle and Lethbridge, Alberta where I opened two exciting shows. The show "Disguise: Masks and Global African Art " at the Seattle Art Museum garnered much critical attention, including press reviews in The Seattle Times, The Stranger and the Huffington Post. Also, Art Metropole in Toronto recently visited my studio and interviewed me for their blog, where we talked about dance and my current work.
Opening this month I am in group shows at The 8th Floor an independent exhibition and event space established by Shelley and Donald Rubin, the exhibition "Between History and the Body" opensthis show is Thursday, July 9th from 6 - 8pm. As well, through Centre 3, I will participate in "Pop Up Shop" a site specific exhibition in the downtown core of Hamilton, Ontario's Barton Street that responds to the Pan AM Games arrival in this city. Lastly, I will be creating a one night performance with Ryan Josey on July 18th through the Lilac Arts Series.
